Naming conventions
Environment Assets = JK_ENV_ASSET_VERSION_INITIALS

Character Models = JK_CHAR_CHARACTER-NAME_VERSION_INITIALS

Animations = JK_ANIM_ANIMATION-NAME_VERSION_INITIALS

Sound Effects = JK_SFX_TYPE_VERSION_INITIALS

Visual Effects = JK_VFX_TYPE_VERSION_INITIALS

[Animation] Practice Animation

Just a quick Animation just to remember how to animate again the posterior moving was a happy coincidence with the auto painting but it did look quite correct. Whether or not dinosaurs had that much control over their tails remains to be seen but its an ok little animation to get back into animating again.

[Animation] Test Dino Rigged

This is just a quick rig that I've put on the test Dinosaur Carl, so that Rhys can get all the control to work correctly in Engine. It was also done so that I could recap the necessary information on how to rig character again. Total time to make Rig 30mins

[Concept] First map variant



First update on some map designs, this is the initial map that I have come up with. This piece isn't finished yet, still need to add the start finish line on the left, and finishing coloring in the cave area. 

This track contains and beach area, a canyon, cave and a river bed, all of them bringing different hazards with them. 

Beach
  • Water coming in and out slowing the Dinosaurs down. 
  • A small Island out in the sea a little bit giving an alternate way to pass the beach area
Canyon
  • Canyon is below sea level so the Dino's will have to go down into the canyon.
  • Rocks will be falling from the top of the cliffs requiring the player to dodge out the way.
Cave
  • Cave will be dark and hard for the player to see where they're going. 
  • Lava will be leaking through the cave ceiling once again requiring the player to dodge the molten rock
River Bed
  • River bed will require the player to dodge quick sand so it doesn't slow them down.
  • Large rocks will obstruct the race track requiring the players to work their way around them. 

Getting back into ZBrush - Jenna

I'm getting back into ZBrush, just testing things out with the current Carnotaurus model we have.

Project Objective and Stretch Goal

The main aim of our project must include the following tasks to be completed on time

  • Two dinosaur characters must be fully completed
  • The multiplayer mechanic must be working in engine
  • A static environment must be completed
  • All targets above must be in game and working to an acceptable playable level

If we are successful in completing the tasks set above and if we have the time we shall endeavor to complete the following tasks. On the condition that the game works very well with little to no bugs being found by players. The extra goals are as followed:

  • A third dinosaur character 
  • Power ups for the players
  • Dynamic Environment, an environment that changes over the course of the race
